I did ower-trained service dog course. The guidance my service dog and I received from Balanced Obedience was life-changing. I did not have any prior knowledge about the service dog certification process, Sabrina and her team patiently provided step-by-step info, and detailed and accessible feedback as my dog and I progressed, regressed, and then progressed again. I highly recommend Balanced Obedience for their wide ranging expertise and trauma-informed approach!

Sabrina is a godsend! For a moment it looked like we might have to re-home our sweet little Max (beagle/terrier mix). For the most part, a goofy, energetic little guy that likes to love up on you, but we aren't sure how he was raised since we got him at 4 years old from the Humane Society. He showed some aggression a couple times so it was either obedience school or a new home. Sabrina taught us and Max a language to work together to keep everyone happy! He is soooo obedient now (although he still likes to test boundaries) but now we have the tools and support from Sabrina to help ensure that Max continues to stay a part of the family! No more trying to drag us along on walks, is learning more and more to display the behaviors that we want him to without prompting...it's really exciting!

We have a 6 month old Pomsky and tried out the 2 week boarding and training course for puppies. Our puppy was fairly obedient at home, but we couldn’t get him to listen in public settings even with treats. For the first time after getting his training he was significantly more responsive to our commands in public settings and will listen to direction even without treats. Sabrina is very professional and knowledgeable and we love that we continue to have her as a resource for guidance and tips even after training including opportunities to train in her group events. She offers a variety of services and canine behavior examinations and are glad we found her so we can also one day train with her service dog training program

We recently adopted a doodle puppy last November. She had a hard time interacting with other dogs oftentimes by submitting and peeing. With people she would be so excited she would nip and pee. We decided to have Bailey go through a puppy bootcamp. It was the best decision we could have made! Sabrina, who trains the puppies, showed us how to help Bailey maintain control without losing her sweet personality! Sabrina was so patient with not only Bailey but us! If your puppy is a bit unruly I would highly recommend Sabrina for her expertise and kindness!

I have known Sabrina for nine years, and I deeply respect her devotion to dog psychology, pack behavior, and the human/canine bond. Our family has two dogs from Sabrina; Teddy who is 9 1/2, and Blue who is 8. To see Sabrina in action with her dogs is nothing short of poetic. She embodies loving pack leadership; no need for harsh discipline or even treats to elicit good behavior. I still remember Sabrina's words when we brought Teddy into our family 9 years ago: "we reward good behavior with love, not treats". Sabrina's dogs adore her because she is a confident leader who loves her pack unconditionally. Over the years I have boarded my dogs with Sabrina. Every time we meet, she takes her time to offer advice on diet, flea prevention, and behavior modification. Most recently Blue earned his American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen award and is now well on his way to becoming a hospital therapy dog, in large part to Sabrina's excellent training. Sabrina inspires me to fulfill my lifelong dream of working with dogs. She believes in compassionate leadership. Her approach to canine health and behavior is holistic and she works tirelessly to help our community raise confident, well-adjusted dogs. I am grateful to know her, and I recommend her services to anyone looking for a dog trainer.

5 star ratingI am so happy we went with Sabrina at Balanced Obedience! I always wanted to get into obedience training and welcomed into my home a working line German Shepherd-Delta. She had a lot more drive and was quite the handful compared to any other dog I have owned. Delta would "chose" when to obey commands or if it was preferable to lunge, destroy things or escape to chase my neighbors (literally). I was the only one who could handle her and couldn't leave her with family or friends. I didn't want to use a shock collar and was worried a professional trainer may be too harsh and break her fun loving personality. Sabrina was very reassuring and knowledgeable. She utilizes her experience with dog psychology and pack behaviors in her training methods. She was honest and down to earth about what I could expect from Delta at what ages. I couldn't be happier with the results of Delta's 3 week Doggie Boot Camp. She listens, is calm and I can include her in all our family activities - stress free and Delta is as fun loving as ever!

i just wanted to write a post about how much Ive enjoyed taking my dog to Balanced Obedience for training and boarding. I have a 4 year old German Shepherd named Josie. When Josie was very young, she was a real handful: mouthy, ornery, unfocused and frankly exhausting. Josie's initial stay at the Boot Camp had a very big impact on her behavior, and ever since she has been a wonderfully easy dog to own. Sabrina's approach is effective and my dog loves going to her. The initial training was SO worth it and I continue to take Josie to Balanced Obedience for boarding and training, knowing that she is in good hands. I'm not a regular at posting things but wanted to recommend Sabrina at Balanced Obedience for training and caring for your dog

5 star ratingI took my 6 month old German Shepherd Josie to Puppy Boot Camp and was amazed at the difference: Before, she was jumping up, distracted and very mouthy with her affection but after, she was a brand-new dog! I think having her professionally trained early in her life was the best thing I ever did. Ever since the Boot Camp, she has been so obedient, focused on me and willing to learn that it makes our relationship only joyful. It has been three years since then, and never any behavioral issues or struggle. I'm still so glad with the results. Whenever i need someone to watch her, I continue to call Sabrina. I would highly recommend Balanced Obedience, especially for puppies like mine!

My dog bear is an Akita Inu, he has been seeing Sabrina at Balanced obedience since he was 6 months old. We did the 3 week Boarding-Training and currently doing service dog training. Akitas are known to be stubborn and very independent. Right after the 3 week training Bear was listening to commands that were taught such as “sit, stay, come, leave it and heel”. Approaching the 2 year old age mark Bear became very rebellious. Sabrina told us it was normal and this was a dogs “teenage year”. When we would have to go on trips we would leave bear with Sabrina at Balanced Obedience for the boarding-training and he came back very obedient. We constantly ask Sabrina how to deal with his stubbornness and she is willing to meet up to teach us and train bear more so he can give us an easier time and pass his public access test. But you have to remember that having a well trained dog isn’t all on the dog. There is lots of practices and training that comes from the owner that the dog listens to. Staying consistent and strict with training will have a great outcome. Sabrina teaches with no treats or harmful techniques. (Which helps so much because I don’t like carrying treats everywhere and it helps save money lol) she uses positive reinforcement techniques and praise. My dog loves to see Sabrina, although he is very tired at the end of the day with her he has a good time. Bear is very stubborn and lazy but even my big stubborn lazy dog will listen and do the work. He is also very scared of escalators and with Sabrina’s help and advice he listens and improves. If you want to have your dog be trained with love and care but also have a great relationship with the trainer I highly recommend Balanced Obedience.

Our highly obstinate and strong-willed European Doberman, (Cutter) has been training with Balanced Obedience since he was four months old. He began his training with Sabrina in a two- week puppy boot camp. He displayed his stubborn nature right from the start; when Sabrina asked to keep him for a third week to fine-tune his training–at no additional cost we were confident she could teach him the right way! He came home fully potty-trained, understood commands, and learned how to fit in our family of four, (two elementary school aged daughters). The techniques that Sabrina has taught our dog, and more importantly us, have grown with him. Allowing our small tween daughter to create a special bond as a handler to this 100+lb Doberman, whom she can skillfully control. We meet with Sabrina every few months to work out kinks as he continues to grow, test boundaries, and challenge the pack leaders. We get updated tools & techniques as Cutter passes through the challenging puppy years into teenage adolescence and adulthood. In addition, Sabrina has provided us with guidance on nutrition, the best time to neuter; to get the benefits of testosterone and growth, collars, leashes, and flea/tick prevention. Make sure to discuss flea prevention; Sabrina is passionate about how to best protect your pet. Our fast-growing dog (from 15 to 90lbs in six months) outgrew collars almost overnight, and she would swap them out for us regularly to keep Cutter in size-appropriate training gear. Having small kids and a Doberman, we wanted to provide the best training to ensure our kids felt confident in their ability to handle such a big dog. The Balanced Obedience technique of positive reinforcement has formed a stubborn boy into a wonderful smart dog who just wants to make us proud. You will not regret reaching out to Sabrina; she will be your dog’s trainer for life!

We first went to Balanced Obedience to get our dog trained and enrolled him into the 3 week bootcamp, its been years since then and our dog bear is still very obedient and easy to walk. Since then we've put him into boarding whenever we won't be at home, where he also works on other commands that he may be stubborn about, and he comes back happy and even more reinforced on other commands. Balanced Obedience is a great place for any dog to stay since the owner has worked with many dog breeds in all her experience handling dogs.

I am very cautious about who I leave my dog with but I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with Sabrina. She is a great dog trainer and worth the investment. I booked him for the two week bootcamp and it has made a big difference in his behavior. I spent a lot of time training my dog using only treats and positive reinforcement. I trained him often but as he approached one year old he began to develop behaviors that I couldn't control and he was beginning to show signs of aggression. It seemed like every new dog that he met led to a more severe reaction from him. He also loved jumping up on people and excitedly getting to them while barking and pulling me to get there.I would beg him to come back and bribe him with treats, but it got to the point where he wouldn't listen to me and I would be embarrassed. I didn't know how to handle my dog. My dog listens to Sabrina. All the work she had done during the two weeks shows. She also took the time to teach me and my husband how to better handle our dog. She even taught us how it safely introduce our dog to other dogs. He even met a dog he hadn't met before and he was so calm! He hasn't jumped up since getting home, he walks next to us, and he has been so nice to be around! On top of being better behaved, he was so content after his stay. He seems like he had a great time with all of the other dogs there and I can tell he also really likes Sabrina. I think he will be excited to go back! I feel so lucky that I met Sabrina and that she helped us as much as she has! This two week training has changed our lives for the better. I plan on using all the resources she provided us with and having our dog stay with her again in the future. I am so happy that I went through with the bootcamp, I have learned a better way to train him and I feel so confident bringing him outside, and now I know the best way to deal with behaviors that I don't want him to have. It was 100% worth the investment and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We first heard about Balanced Obedience from a friend who had their puppy attend Doggie Boot Camp. They were so impressed with the results, “night and day difference”. So we enrolled our dog, a beagle, at 11 months of age in the 2 wk Doggie Boot Camp. He came to our family only 8 wks old. He is a very playful, energetic and loving guy. He is also very stubborn. Walks were painful since he would pull until he tired himself out. He loves his crate but would bark when we left the house or had company. He would couch and table surf. He would jump on guests. And he would pick up anything left on the ground. Since having completed the camp we have noticed a huge improvement. He no longer pulls on walks. He listens to commands such as sit and down. We’ve been working on the leave it command. Before he would pick up a Kleenex from the ground and refuse to give it up but now he drops it when instructed to. We had to leave him an extra week per Sabrina’s recommendation and we were happy we did. Our puppy has been back home with us for about 4 wks now. You have to continue to put in the work and build on the foundation that Sabrina laid out. We have a very challenging beagle, it has not been easy but being able to contact Sabrina through email or text has been extremely helpful. The fact that she’s available after the camp is comforting. We went back a week later to make sure we were following the training correctly. We feel very comfortable boarding our puppy with her in the future. Thank you so much Sabrina and the staff at Balanced Obedience!!

My wife and I were looking for a board and train for our 1 year old border collie/husky mix. He was a great dog when it was just us in the home, but gets very excited, jumpy and barky when he sees someone that could give him pets or another dog to play with. Within the last month or two we had noticed several moments of aggression with other dogs. Hadn't led to any serious issues yet, but definitely something we wanted to get under control. We had chose Balanced Obedience for a 2 week board and train and have no regrets. The before and after of when we dropped him off and picked him up was such a stark difference. He is much more disciplined with his greetings and his walking. Sabrina had sent us several updates and photos during the training, which we appreciated. She also provided a lot of resources for us to continue his training at home. I would definitely recommend Balanced Obedience to anyone having behavior concerns with their dog or anyone who just wants some extra training.

5 star ratingSabrina is an excellent dog trainer. I am so grateful that she has taken the time to train our dog. We signed up for the two week bootcamp and it has absolutely made a difference in our dogs behavior. I believe the relationship we have with our dog will forever be better because of the two weeks he spent with Sabrina.I have an 11 month old dog that I was determined to raise with only positive reinforcement. I watched so many youtube videos and followed that way of training as well as I could. Right when he hit adolescence he became incredibly challenging. It got to the point where I was afraid to have other people greet him because he would jump, cry, pull, and not stop until he got to them. People began to become afraid of him and I became embarrassed. His greeting other dogs was even worse. It started off with him being an overly excited greeter and recently led to him being more aggressive. It felt like his greetings were getting worse every time he met a new dog and we were on a path to him eventually biting another dog (or person.) I was bribing him with treats, pulling him away, begging him to listen and he just wasn't listening anymore. I felt helpless and defeated. I put so much effort into socializing and training him, but the way I was doing it clearly wasn't working for my dog. Sabrina was informative from the moment I dropped my dog off. My dog was on his worst behavior and she was instantly teaching me how to correct him and how to behave myself to get the best behavior out of him. At pickup it was immediately noticeable that he was better behaved and he also seemed so content and willing to listen to Sabrina! Sabrina instructed my husband an I on the proper way to have him greet us and others. She took a lot of time to teach us how to properly walk him, how to have him practice commands, and how we should deliver those commands and position ourselves to have him respect us. He now listens so well when we do commands the way she instructed us to. Also she brought out a dog he hadn't met before and instructed us on how to do a calm greeting between the two of them and it seemed like a miracle because my dog was calm!Having your dog trained by Sabrina is absolutely worth the investment. I learned so much from her and I can't wait to continue to train my dog in her style and leave the bribing and begging behind. She offers support for a lifetime so I feel like I have the resources to be able to help my dog become the best version of himself he can be. I feel so relieved and empowered and a lot less worried for my dogs future. We found Sabrina at the perfect time!

5 star ratingI am so, so incredibly grateful for Sabrina and the whole team at Balanced Obedience. I made a yelp account solely to sing my praises. My chocolate lab, Ozzy, went to the doggy boot camp for his last stage of training to be a service dog. When Ozzy came back to me, he was still just as happy, just as loving, but incredibly obedient. When searching for training for Ozzy, I was admittedly concerned about boarding him. I've heard one too many horror stories about animal abuse and neglect. Reading Sabrina's reviews definitely made me feel better, in addition to the comprehensive information provided immediately during the consultation. When discussing terms and the training plan, Sabrina was reassuring and confident. The facility itself was beautiful. There was plenty of room for the dogs to roam and play. Ozzy was very comfortable in the space and with Sabrina and her staff immediately. They took the time to break everything down and explain it to a very worried me (having my service animal without me for two weeks was scary!) even venturing to explain her educational background (both psychology AND zoology) which ascertained her skill and knowledge. You can tell she loves the dogs, and she loves her job.Throughout the two week period, I texted nearly every day to check in. I turned into a full-on helicopter mom, but Sabrina let me know how he was doing and sent lots of pictures and updates. When I went to pick him up, Ozzy was absolutely perfect; happy, healthy, and super obedient. At home now, he's much calmer and always listens. I missed him, but it was SO worth it. I cannot recommend Sabrina and Balanced Obedience enough. 🙂

5 star ratingI did a lot of research across all sorts of training methods and options and trainers. Ultimately I selected Sabrina at Balanced Obedience and am so glad I did. Mele is our 6 month old yellow lab; we've had her with us since she was 3 months old. She had the normal puppy issues - jumping, nipping, pulling. We have three young grandchildren and I wanted to get off to the right start with Mele esp with the kids always in the house. Lots of activity, noise and she was beginning to get very excitable (jumping more, nipping etc) and I was getting anxious. Not a good combo. We also have two older dogs, 14 and 12 and she was nipping at them. This stopped and when it does happen we know how to prevent it I selected the two week boarding with Sabrina and wow it was incredible. She came back a calmer, obedient pup and the best thing is - we were also trained on what to do, not do. Mele just wants to please us and we now have the tools to have a great relationship.

My husband and I have a 10 month old GSD who had been displaying signs of aggression at home and in public from a very early age (4mo). I was covered in bruises, cuts, bite marks all over my body. He was a bully in the household and was terrorizing our marriage. He would bite, lunge at people and other dogs, and needed to be very sedated for all vet appointments. I will be very honest I was done with him and was very much ready to rehome him. That's when my husband found Sabrina. We made a deal; if this training didn't work we would rehome him. I was very skeptical and really believed our Shepherd was truly beyond help. I almost hoped it didn't work just to be done with this dog. Jaeger, our GSD stayed with Sabrina for 3 weeks, she was very honest and open from the get go, telling us yes he can be trained however due to his history we also need to have realistic expectations that he is a male shepherd and will need strong, confident handlers for the remainder of his life and if we can't be that for him, rehoming can be an option. I really appreciated her honesty and knowledge from the beginning. Sabrina knows what she's talking about and knew the breed well. Fast forward 3 weeks, we arrive at her location to a completely new dog, remember now, this is the same dog that has bitten me, left scars on my hand and legs, and could not be seen in public due to aggression, here he is sitting calmly by her side waiting for us to step out of our car. She demonstrates all of the techniques she has taught him (sit, down, leave it, heel) over the past few weeks with us and I am blown away, our dog is no longer pulling on the leash, lunging, biting, or terrorizing our house. It's been almost 2 months since training and I will be very honest, I love this dog, he has turned from our worst nightmare to our best friend, as I am writing this he is calmly laying at my side sleeping. He had his first vet appointment yesterday with NO SEDATIVES, the technicians all noticed he is a different dog, he was giving everyone kisses at the vet and really for the first time actually seemed to enjoy being there! We go to Lowes to practice commands with distractions, we go to the park, we can eat dinner and watch tv with him at our side, it's incredible. Sabrina has given us the tools and confidence to grow with him. He really is our partner now, he really is a different animal altogether. He was never affectionate with me ever, now, he's giving me kisses, looks for me when I'm not in the same room as him, and will gladly sleep at my side as we watch tv together. Sabrina gave us our life back, this whole story may sound cheesy, but it was very real. We had a real problem and were given a solution. We can't thank Sabrina enough, we recommend her to all of our friends. Jaeger is a work in progress, we work hard every day, we have ups and downs, but the biggest takeaway for me is seeing a happy, balanced dog, I believe he really understands his role now and is truly part of our pack.

5 star ratingSabrina is a wonderful trainer! We sent our pup to her Puppy Boot Camp and saw marked improvements in her behavior and obedience after 2 weeks. She gave us good tips and handling advice. We continue to take our dog for boarding, training and fun/safe socialization with other dogs. Highly recommend!

5 star ratingWhat an amazing experience! We have a highly intelligent and stubborn cattle dog...aka" Australian Blue Heeler". I have to say Sabrina is amazing and trained or pup and us on how to work with his energy! She is an amazing dog trainer and boarder. We recently had a last minute birthday trip planned for our daughter and Sabrina amazingly said to drop him off and she would take care of the rest. Once we dropped him off we received multiple texts on his well being and what he was up to! I highly recommend Balanced Obedience for training and Boarding. Piece of mind when you leave a family member is priceless!!

5 star ratingMy husband and I have a 10 month old GSD who had been displaying signs of aggression at home and in public from a very early age (4mo). He would bite, lunge at people and other dogs, and needed to be very sedated for all vet appointments. I will be very honest I was done with him and was very much ready to rehome him. If you’re considering training- I highly recommend it. I considered bringing our dog to Sabrina a few times over the last three years. He’s stubborn, nervous and has a tough time with strangers (dogs and humans). I was hesitating because I wasn’t sure if it would be worth the investment. But in June 2021, we decided it was time. We live in the city and it is important to us that he knows how to behave in busy environments. Fenway will never be a trusting, chill dog, but Sabrina gave us all the tools we need to ensure that he can remain a member of our family. Since his 3 week training with Sabrina, we have been told several times how well behaved he is. He needed structure but he also still loves to snuggle. Words cannot express my gratitude to Sabrina for her patience and balanced approach to training our unique dog. She told us immediately that she could tell how much we loved him and she also set very clear and kind expectations that he was likely going to continue to challenge us. He does. But we love him and now we know the tools we need to make the best decision for each situation. I write this review so that if anyone, who like me, is debating the value of training for their dog, knows how much it has helped us. It’s worth the investment.

5 star ratingWe love Sabrina and Balanced Obedience! Our Black Labrador Retriever went to boot camp because she pulled on her leash during walks, chewed on things in the house that were not hers (i.e. shoes and furniture), jumped on people, and on the couch, went up on tables and counters to get human food. We had adopted her at 11 months old and she had learned some bad behaviors that she needed to unlearn. During the boot camp we texted Sabrina for updates and received pictures of our smiling dog! After the two week boot camp there was a clear difference in her demeanor. With patience, commitment and time we worked on all the foundations that Sabrina helped to put in place. Our friends have shared, "she is like a completely different dog!" and "she is doing so good!" Our lives are so much more pleasant and walking our dog is the highlight of our day! She heels really well, and follows her basic commands: sit, down, stay, come, leave it and drop it. It has been 6 months since boot camp and our next goals are for her to greet other dogs calmly and obey commands and stay close to us when off leash. What I love most is that we continue to work with Sabrina post boot camp where we have quick training sessions with other dogs around and Sabrina asks us about our specific goals moving forward. This has greatly helped to introduce more distractions in a controlled environment. The refreshers, reinforcement, support and practice is really what helps to keep our doggie (and us) balanced and create new and better habits. Sabrina also provided incredible training equipment (multiple collars and leashes to support a gradual release), and has provided advice on diet and her digestive system. It is so clear that Sabrina loves doggies, and our doggie surely loves Sabrina!

Sabrina is wonderful! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind, generous, and dedicated to training all types of dogs. After researching a few puppy boot camps on Oahu, and then meeting with Sabrina for an initial consultation, my boyfriend and I sent Cola, our 4-month-old chocolate brown chihuahua terrier mix, to the 2-week puppy boot camp in March 2021. It was a considerable price in proportion to our limited budget but every penny has been so worth it. Other trainers on Oahu are actually priced the same or more. Sabrina was so dedicated to our puppy's success that she gave her a 3rd week of training for free (Cola's a stubborn girl)! What sold me most on choosing Sabrina was meeting with her and learning that she uses praise-based training (no treats). Cola's training did not end at the 3-week mark either because Sabrina is still regularly checking in with us via text and meeting at our home and hers to do follow-ups. The training guide she provides after boot camp is an excellent resource and Sabrina has been so helpful in guiding us with how to tailor some of the commands and training for our stubborn pup. Our experience has been nothing but positive. I highly recommend and TRUST Sabrina for dog training and I definitely plan to use her services again for training camps and boarding.

I have an old stubborn Frenchie that I was losing hope on, but loved too much to stop trying. After plenty of research I came across Balanced Obedience. I reached out to Sabrina for training. She trained my Frenchie to be obedient to a leader and showed me how to take back control of our relationship. Our Frenchie now respects me as the leader and it has made a world of difference in our household. After the training program, we boarded our Frenchie with Sabrina on short notice. She was able to accommodate him and she returned him with a bath. Throughout our dogs’ experiences with Sabrina, she has fed him quality food, kept us updated on his training and boarding, and educated us about how we can help our dog have a better lifestyle. Our family is very thankful for Sabrina Clark! She has helped my dog and I in so many ways. I know we can count on her in the future to be there for us again. She is very reliable, honest, professional, and is really passionate about what she does. Qualities that are hard to come across these days.

We can’t thank Sabrina at Balanced obidience enough, for the tremendous transformation we’ve seen in our puppy. We put our (16 week old) puppy through the 2 week doggie boot camp, and she came home a different dog. Calmer, more obedient and with a whole bunch of new tricks! We almost couldn’t believe that she was the same dog. One of the biggest challenges we faced was her pulling during walks. She now walks calmly at our feet. So calmly, even our children can walk her without effort. (See pic) thank you so much Sabrina and Balanced Obedience for turning our rambunctious pup into a loving family dog.

5 star ratingBeing a new dog owner, I didn't know how to deal with a bundle of energy from my new Frenchie puppy. I also wasn't ready for his stubborn disposition. I asked around in my neighborhood and my tennis circles and each of the families had the same recommendation - Sabrina. I sent my pup to Sabrina for a three week camp and was just delighted with the result. But the most difficult was retraining my family to becoming good dog owners. That was three years ago. I have recommended her to for four other difficult or unruly (but loving and cute..) doggies, both older and puppies, and each one of them have become wonderful dogs! The families thank me for the referral. We travel a couple of times a year so we send our baby to Sabrina and he comes back reinforced and even a better dog each time. He loves Sabrina when she comes to pick him up. He jumps in her car even before I can say goodbye. Highly recommended.

I sent my absolutely crazy lab pup, Fish, to Sabrina at balanced obedience and she has changed both of our lives! He had terrible chewing/play biting habits, always jumped on people, pulled excessively on leash, and bad house manners that was causing stress for my roommates and I. I was at my wits end at many points with Fish, and when I had to get surgery with a 6 week recovery time decided that it was finally the time to do what was best for both of us and send him to board and train. After staying with Sabrina for 4 weeks, Fish is a completely different pup! Sabrina worked with me to extend his stay (offering extra time without charge so Fish could benefit from more training and I could properly heal), and kindly reinforced that she just wanted what was best for me and Fish. He’s the same dog with an incredibly high energy personality, but he knows how to channel that and the right things to do. Sabrina was incredibly helpful during the transition back home, and properly trained my boyfriend and me on how to work with Fish’s new commands and rules. I don’t have enough good things to say about Sabrina and the team at balanced obedience, they have changed my life drastically and I would recommend anyone send their dog to her, whether their behaviors are severe or minor. And every-time Fish see’s her now he’s beside himself with excitement, he absolutely loves her (which means so much to me)!! I should also state that Fish is continuing his training to become a service dog under Sabrina’s guidance. His growth since staying with her amazes me every day, and I can happily say I no longer have a crazy puppy who drives me insane, but a loyal, well-behaved companion and best friend.

5 star ratingThe moment we adopted our Shiba Inu puppy, Ichiro, I knew we would need to send him to a good trainer to teach him better than what was within our capabilities. After my research, I contacted Sabrina for the 3 week on leash training program. I really like that the puppies interacted with each other, this has made it more comfortable for us to let him meet other dogs within reason as well as the fact that he now knows what the difference between play biting and biting too hard. The style of collar training may be a little controversial for some as it involves metal prong collars, but it has proved to be the only effective collar to get Ichiro to not pull and also walk comfortably next to us. In time, we hope he will be able to move to another type. His temperament from before training and after, including his biting habits/hyper ness/listening to commands, had changed 360 for us and we noticed the difference on his first day back home. While we miss the little puppy days, we didn't miss him biting us all the time! 😀 We were really appreciative of Sabrina's want to further train Ichiro a little longer after noticing he doesn't do the down command easily (shibas...). She mentioned the extra week definitely helped in this area. He is still stubborn on this but we have been following her advice in training long periods each day to work on this specifically. What was personally beneficial was her end of training visit at our house. It was so helpful when she walked us through her style of dog walking, as well as how to give the commands to Ichiro. But what I noticed during that time, was her conscious reminders that we make sure to give him lots of love and praise when he was training the first time back with us. Sabrina was very patient (with me) and helpful during the whole process. And we are so glad we made the investment for Ichiro to train with her! We are already planning for him to board there in the next few months - another great benefit of training with her! Thank you, Sabrina!

5 star ratingIn years past when we have come to visit our children, we could always count on a less than desirable welcome from our grandpup, Josey Wales. He has always been a very rambunctious blue heeler who thinks crotch sniffing and arm chewing is the best way to say how do you do. Poppop has the scars to prove it. For Lovey, her words are always, "no, no...down dog" to no avail. At night he would often crouch under a cabinet and growl and pounce at your feet as you passed by. After his stint at doggie boot camp, he is a completely different dog. He sits quietly in his crate or at our feet, waiting politely for an invitation to interact. No more loud barking, jumping, slobbery unwelcome licks. It's almost like a completely different dog. I have never particularly liked animals to invade my space, but now I can happily coexist with a much better behaved grandpup. Now if we could just send Poppop to boot camp so that he could get his dogs to behave!!

5 star ratingI reached out to Sabrina to help my 4 yro blue heeler a few months after relocating to the island. Due to COVID and circumstances beyond our control, we lived at a hotel for over 2 months before finding and moving into our new home. Once our life seemed to calm down and return to a more typical routine, we noticed that some of the undesirable behaviors and quirks that had surfaced during our PCS move still remained evident- most notably separation anxiety. Our Josey Wales just didn't seem himself. I emailed Sabrina to inquire about her services and Josey was enrolled in her Bootcamp the next week. I picked Josey up 3 weeks later, and I was greeted by a completely transformed dog! He seemed less stressed, exhibited less spastic and rowdy behaviors and overall was much more obedient and much more calm. Josey has been home 2 weeks and I am so grateful for Sabrina for helping our family pup become more balanced and obedient. Time and money well spent!

My dogs boarded there for an entire month for potty and basic training. I paid $5000 and when they came back they weren't potty trained at all. They were a little better socializing with other dogs and that's about it. What a waste of money! I was even told one of my dogs was mentally challenged!

We have a 2-year old F1B Goldendoodle who liked to jump a lot, pulled the leash while walking, didn't come when we called her, didn't stay in one place, and only played with small dogs. My wife looked up obedience training programs on google and we came across Balanced Obedience. The first time we reached out to Sabrina, she was very responsive and cordial. We exchanged some emails and she recommended the 2-week bootcamp for our dog. We went out to her farm/training facility in Waimanalo to check it out and she was able to evaluate our dog and address the concerns we had about our dog's obedience issues before we began the program. The following weekend, she came over to our house to pick our dog to start the bootcamp. During the bootcamp, she always kept us up-to-date and sent us pictures and videos of her progress. Once the bootcamp completed, she brought our dog home and did a lesson with us on how to handle our newly trained dog and Results: Every concern we had above was addressed and our dog now has become more obedient, she's more confident around bigger dogs and listens to us which she didn't before the training. Sabrina did a great job and deserves the credit for these results.

I met with Sabrina 3 years ago to train my oldest, a hound/staffy mix, and I have never looked back since. She goes above and beyond to provide the best service, care and love to the animals. She is the TRUE dog whisperer and trains the owners as well, which is the most important. Her knowledge about animals and training is endless and I cannot think of my life without Sabrina. Since then, I have adopted more dogs all various breeds and they all went to Boot camp, even the little chihuahuas. Whenever I have an issue, Sabrina is quick to give me various solutions. I would recommend her to any dog owner with pets who have behavioural issues for she knows what she is doing. When Sabrina comes to pick them up for refreshers, which I do a few times a year, they jump into her van. I have the utmost respect for Sabrina and the miracles she performs.

5 star ratingWe took our puppy, Kaleb, to Sabrina for help with potty-training, to learn basic manners and commands, and to stop the nipping, jumping and chewing that was making us regret not getting a kitten instead. We couldn't be happier with Sabrina and with the results of her training. After two weeks of training, our little Kaleb returned to us full of the same energy and enthusiasm he had when he went to Sabrina, but now he listens and follows the commands he learned. Now we can enjoy the little puppy we love, without the frustration of his previous unwanted behaviors. Kaleb is even setting a good example for our two 3-year-old labs who have always been a little resistant to the training they received from another trainer. When the three dogs are together and we give Kaleb a command, the labs also follow the command, modeling Kaleb's response. What an unexpected benefit of Sabrina's training! Because of this, we are now (finally!) able to take the dogs on walks around the neighborhood without the struggle of keeping them from running off or wanting to chase other dogs. Not only was Sabrina excellent with the training, but she has been very good (and very gracious) about checking in with us afterward to see how Kaleb is doing, offering refresher training, and otherwise making herself available to answer questions and provide any additional guidance and advice as we continue working with Kaleb to reinforce his training. We are very happy we chose Sabrina, and we recommend her very highly and without any reservation.

5 star ratingIf you need a caring and compassionate dog trainer, call Sabrina. From our initial consultation, through the two-week training, and on many occasions thereafter, Sabrina has been genuinely invested in the training, development and well-being of our little puppy. Sabrina is kind, patient and has the "teacher" mindset. Not only did she do a great job training our puppy, she was very helpful and patient in "training" and teaching us on how to work with the little guy to reinforce her training. After the training, Sabrina frequently checked in with us to see how he was doing and to provide additional guidance and advice, and she repeatedly offered to meet with us for refresher training. Our little guy is the same happy, playful and energetic little puppy we delivered to her. The only difference after the training is that he follows the commands he learned, which has made our experience and time with him much more pleasant and enjoyable. Thank you, Sabrina!

If you are looking for a place to get your dog trained, I highly recommend booking with Balanced Obedience! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and will answer any question you have with honesty as well as give you an honest and accurate assessment of your pup. When we took our 18 month old American Bully to her he was very nervous, lacked confidence, uncomfortable going for walks on the leash, no social skills, and lacked an overall foundation that he should’ve gotten as a puppy. Kana was kept in an outside kennel for the first 10 months of his life before we adopted him which didn’t allow him to develop properly. After the 3 week Doggy Boot Camp, the change was noticeable instantly. Sabrina gave him a fresh start. He now loves to go for walks for as long as he can, obeys all commands, shows no aggression towards humans or other animals, knows how to behave around the house, and much more. Most importantly he’s very confident in himself and is always happy. Sabrina is very trustworthy and will give you as many updates and photos that you want throughout the training process. She not only teaches your pup, but she also teaches you how to be the leader that your pup needs. I go to her for any questions or advice that I need, and I will continue to do so for years to come!

5 star ratingSabrina is an INCREDIBLE dog trainer. I highly recommend her!!! We sent our 8 month old puppy to Sabrina for a 2 week bootcamp. Not only did Sabrina board our puppy for a couple extra days to ensure she mastered the "down" command before returning, but she also provided us with essential training collars and proper food and a toy for when she returned our puppy home to us. When we sent our puppy to Sabrina, she was constantly biting, not potty trained and over all disobedient, when she returned it was like night and day. Our puppy came back FULLY potty trained, respectful, obedient, submissive, socialized and better than we could have ever imagined. Sabrina exceeded our every expectation and she even offers further training to ensure our puppy's progress will last. Sending our puppy to Sabrina was worth every penny and I hope to have a lifelong relationship of brining Koki to train with her further and any other dogs we may get in the future will definitely be brought to Balanced Obedience as well. This lady really knows what she is doing and truly cares about customer satisfaction. I give her an 11/10. Thank you so much Sabrina, for all you have done for Koki. Truly life changing for both her and us as pet owners.

5 star ratingSabrina really takes an individual professional quality and then adds respect and love. I do not easily trust my device dog is getting old so ai have a Bernadoodle puppy in training and could not get back to the mainland due to Pandemic. So glad I found a AKC certified trainer for the next level of service dog training so he can avheive his Gold Star rating and his BC Guide and Service Dog dedignation( when we finally return to Canada after the pandemic) More importantly my current Service dog has arthritis and needs to retire ASAP.Sabrina Clark is a very capable trainer who really observes and learns the personality of a dog and works efficiently to train a well behaved dog. Plus really good follow-up after the block of training.Thank you Sabrina Clark

She was also so helpful with the training of my dog to become a service dog! I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for dog training, or even just advice!!

This is a review for my dog Scar. He’s a terrier mix and 2 years old. I love my boy but his attitude was becoming a bit out of control to the point he was kicked out of his day care for getting aggressive with other dogs. At that point I knew it was time for me to find a way to get him to behave better with other dogs. Before going to Sabrina at Balanced Obedience, Scar was a bit aggressive with other dogs. At the park, at day care, and during our walks to the point where I didn’t know if he could go outside anymore. Furthermore, he was super stubborn and refused to obey any commands, unless I had food for him. I met with Sabrina to talk about Scar’s issues and what my goals were with him. She was very accommodating and responded quickly to all of my questions. From the moment she met with Scar, he instantly liked her. After our meeting, I was confidence she would be able to help Scar out, so I sent him to her 2 week boot camp. She even went out of her way to take care of him for a few additional days during the boot camp for no extra charge while I was traveling for family obligations. After I got Scar back, it was like he was a completely different dog, he is now obedient and super friendly with all the dogs he meets. Now I always get compliments on his behavior whenever we go out. I don’t know how she did it but she definitely did a great job with him and I recommend Sabrina to anybody who would like their dog to be a bit more obedient.

Sabrina is knowledgable, kind and caring. I first contacted her after adopting my rescue dog Tommy. After his training Tommy was easy to handle and all problems had been solved. Tommy continues to return for boarding and literally runs to Sabrina he can't wait to spend time with her. I never worry knowing Tommy is so well cared for by his friend.

5 star ratingOur dog Niko started training with Sabrina last year and she had his personality pegged on the first meeting. We felt very comfortable with her and her training methods and expertise. Niko has done boot camp and has boarded with her and he is just so improved in all areas. His socialization skills are so much better. We can take him walking and to parks without him lunging or barking when he sees other dogs. The great thing about Sabrina is that she gives you the tools and support to help your dog be their best self and fit into your life.

My American Bully named Louie came back home after a 3 week camped, a changed dog. Sabrina let me know what to expect from having this type of breed and the outcome of training as a result. She really took her time to explain her background knowledge in animal behavior and thoroughly taught me her techniques as a responsible handler. Louie is on his way of becoming a great service dog. Sabrina’s services will not disappoint. Daily walks with Louie proved just how much he was worked with in camp. Sabrina has left the lines of communication open if we should ever need any advice or guidance. Thank you Sabrina for creating balanced obedience, it has made a world of difference in my dog and life going forward.

We recently decided it was the right time for our family to add a puppy into the mix. We went down to the Humane Society and found a puppy that we fell in love with! Holly was a sweet girl, but we were having trouble walking her and knowing what to do once she found her hound voice! I knew I needed help with training our sweet pup, but as we were new to island, I wasn’t sure who to go to. I’d reached out to our vet for recommendations, but wasn’t happy with their suggested trainers. After weeks of searching and doing research, I found Balanced Obediance. I was extremely impressed with all the information and videos available on their site. And I loved that they trained dogs without shock collars or relying on treats. I corresponded back and forth with Sabrina and we decided that Puppy boot camp would be our best bet. Fast forward two weeks, Holly came home healthy, happy and best of all she was a dream to walk around our neighborhood. Sabrina met with our family to show us how to work with Holly and really set us up for success. She offered a follow up visit a week after Holly came home and has made her self available for extra questions that popped up after. Overall, we have been extremely happy with our experience and couldn’t be happier with Holly’s training. I highly recommend Balanced Obediance!

5 star ratingWe are thrilled with our experience with Sabrina and Danny at Balanced Obedience! We had a lot of issues with our dog that were resolved with the doggie boot camp. She was hyper active and would pull on the leash and bark at other dogs on walks. Our dog is now calm in the house, doesn't pull on the leash, and listens to our commands. We were astounded when she returned from boot camp at how much she had changed! Sabrina has been so helpful with follow up sessions and training tools. If you want a more obedient dog I strongly recommend Balanced Obedience!

Ive spent a couple weeks trying to figure out how to best write this review. First and foremost the work Sabrina and her team did was nothing short of amazing. I was stunned at the amount of obedience they were able to instill in my puppy in just 3 weeks. I have an Australian Cattle Dog, working breed, highly intelligent and most importantly, stubborn as an old man! So i was initially wanting to find someone to teach me how to start her on the right path. After finding Balanced Obedience online and doing my research i decided the cost was worth the hype, and to my surprise it was even better. My now 5 month old cattle dog is the best behaved dog wherever we go. Stress free outings, i dont have to worry about MY dog anymore. What in the past has taken me years to do without any formal training took only 3 weeks. Sit, down, stay, heel, walking on leash, house trained and crate trained with no fuss. Not to mention the often forgotten advantage of being socialized with other dogs and people. Which isnt something that can be taught, they simply have to have the experience. To leave you with some advice, remember that Sabrina builds an excellent foundation for your dog, you still have to reinforce those trainings and stick with the regiment. If you do so, you'll be very pleased. Also, follow-up training and answering my constant questions were absolutely free. Thanks again Sabrina, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend you to anyone.

After living in Hawaii for 4 years, we finally decided it was time for us to get a dog. We knew we wanted a doodle mix since they are so smart. We had no idea how challenging the training would be. By the time Kona was just under 6 months (right before Christmas) she was jumping all over us, our guest, countertops. She was extremely sassy, and nipping at us and our guests. I told my husband that I wasn’t able to handle her, and that if we didn’t find a solution fast, we would have to rehome her. Of course, that was the last thing we wanted to do, so one of our friends referred us to Balanced Obedience (Sabrina). I immediately contacted her to schedule a visit. One of our daughter’s friends is scared of dogs, but now that Kona is a “new dog”, he’s coming around to her. We can tell that our guests are much happier coming to our home, and we are at ease knowing that Kona knows how to be a great dog! Our family is grateful to Sabrina and Balanced Obedience!

5 star ratingOur two 2 and a half year old chihuahua/spitz/poms had taken over our house. They barked incessantly, pee'ed on our carpets, and were very defiant. We were overwhelmed and very unhappy. We called Sabrina and opted for the two-week boot camp. We just got them back yesterday and couldn't be happier with the results. Our dogs are trainable! Sabrina instructed us that we need to continue the training that she and her husband started. When she dropped off the dogs at our home, she stayed for almost an hour so she could train our family in how to support the dogs' training. She said she would come back in 3-10 days (depending on how well the dogs are doing) for a review and if we were ready, then more advanced training. This is included in the price of the bootcamp. She said she would come back one or two more times after that as well. She also gifted our family with all sorts of doggie goodies and tools. It is obvious that she loves animals and that she takes joy in helping families and their pets succeed. The service is expensive, but so worth it! And it is actually much more affordable than many other programs. I'm so glad our family chose Balanced Obedience and I highly recommend it to anyone struggling with pets with behavior issues. I will provide updates as we integrate the dogs into our household.

5 star ratingI am so grateful to Sabrina and her team for all the work they did on my Pomeranian Tofu! Before sending her off to Doggie Boot Camp, my dog was a mess - she would chew up wires, bark like there was an earthquake about to happen, jump on everyone and anyone, and not listen to any commands. I couldn't even get sleep for the past few days and had to resort to sleeping in my car because my dog became too bothersome! Of course, I loved her too much to give her away, or resort to re-homing, so like a good doggie parent, I decided to send her to get some training.Upon arrival, Sabrina was incredibly friendly. She evaluated my dog, and from the moment she saw her, she knew that Tofu had behavior problems. We went over what I wanted out of the training, and what would be best for Tofu. Throughout the two weeks, I was able to contact Sabrina regarding the well-being of my dog, and her progress. She was prompt in her replies, and answered my questions thoroughly! Upon return, Tofu was a little more than excited to see me, so she couldn't exactly show me what she learned, but the next few days proved that she was a changed dog! No more jumping on me, no more excessive barking, she waits when she wants to eat, and remains fairly calm! Sabrina also gave me a TON of training supplies (more than what was expected) to ensure that Tofu would be well off. Balanced Obedience also extends their lifetime support - I'm so happy that I can contact Sabrina when I need to if I have questions regarding Tofu. I'm excited to send her off to Advanced Boot Camp in the future! 🙂

I sent my 6 month old Pitbull mix Puppy, Cali, to Sabrina for Puppy Boot Camp. Cali would pull like a sled dog when we would walk her and bark incessantly when she would see other dogs, certain people and chickens. After two weeks with Sabrina, Cali is calm, walks right by my side and hasn’t barked once since being home! On top of providing excellent training for Cali, Sabrina was patient and very supportive of teaching me as well. She answered all of my questions and is continuing to help me be the best Doggy Mom I can be. She loved my baby and took amazing care of her during boot camp and I have already booked a 2 week boarding for when I leave the Island in May. Thank you so much Sabrina for helping my baby be well behaved, loved, cared for, balanced and obedient

First off, Sabrina and Dan are the most AMAZING trainers that I've come across in many states. They have years of experience, they love what they do, they're passionate about it, continue learning, reading scholarly information important for your dogs health, they're personal, and all around the best of the best. They provide a holistic approach & train each dog individually. Why go through a company that believes miracles happen over night or 1-2 group sessions? Sabrina and Dan take the balanced approach. Your dog has time to understand what is being asked of them, what their 'role' is in their life etc. and are trained tailored to your expectations. I had my service dog trained by Sabrina and she is Wonderful! They also have service dogs trained, ready to work for you! Leilani (my dog) is a husky and service animal... she does not howl, bark, approach people when they say come or teeth click, does not respond to food or distractions, etc.... she knows 'her job' and if you look on Yelp you'll see a lady who received a trained service animal, complaining of Sabrina saying to treat the animal as medical equipment.. I never understood this until after Leilani was trained and months later... this applies to pets as well... if you let the obidence fail I.E. don't keep up with training the dog will fail. Especially with service animals (explained later). The dog like a child, if you say everyday when you get home do your homework, and you don't continue to enforce that, the child will or may go play first and the you ask why and they have no answer.... same thing with dogs they take inches that you don't see until they've taken a mile! Especially in the growing phases. If you have a service animal, it's is important to understand they can't be pet by everyone, can't go to dog parks, socialize with friends dogs, etc.... this is not meant to discourage you but only to tell you that the training will relapse, the dog will think it's okay to play even in public, and they will continue down that path unless corrected... just like children again, you can't expect a child to not say or do things in public vs home and them understand, same rule applies to most dogs. You have to be firm, keep up with the training, ASK for advice when needed (Sabrina is excellent at providing ANY advice whether training, supplements, health, Or otherwise!), I cannot express that enough. Once your dog is trained, it is up to you to follow through with the training, if the dog faults from it's training and you notice, ASK for help. Do not allow the dog to continue down a path you already paid to have corrected. In all, you have to realize dogs look up you, look for advice, guidance, approval, etc. if you fail to give it they will be a 'rotten child', in my opinion... you wouldn't let your child act a fool, so why let your dog whom resides in your home? If your dog is unruly or only needs help in a few areas GO TO BALANCED OBIDENCE NOW! Don't wait! While the cost may be 'too much' for some, take it from a college student... ITS WORTH IT! Dogs live long lives, they strive for purpose, guidance, rules, routine.... just like babies needing routine with feeding, naps, etc. I know I've related dogs to children multiple times but my dog is my child as most dogs are to their owners, especially those seeking training. I would do it all over again in a heart beat! Everyone says, wow! Your dog is so well behaved and I have balanced obidence to thank for that! So if your dog jumps on people, needs kennel training, socialization, or just training in general BOOK them now!

5 star ratingMy dogs Boomer and Maggie both attended the boot camp training. Sabrina took the time to first meet them and we discussed at length about their history and what I wanted to gain from the training. She keeps you informed as well throughout the process. It made me feel better about sending them off for 2 weeks. Both dogs came back well behaved especially on walks...no more pulling and jumping! We initially were going to only send Maggie off. She has anxiety issues and we weren't sure how she'd do but on her first day back we saw how well she responded to sabrina and was so amazed that we sent Boomer off too! Maggie is more balanced these days and she is improving everyday by following sabrina's guidance and advice. she is happier than before. Now that both have gone through training they can be boarded with sabrina whenever we go away. This is a great perk! I've done other boarding places in the past and I've stayed away from them ever since Boomer got bit. It's usually run by untrained individuals and I always worry. But at balanced obedience I know all dogs are balanced and have been personally trained by Sabrina as well as watched over by her during playtime. I never have to worry about them. I know they're having fun socializing with other dogs and that they are well taken care of. Knowing this has taken away a tremendous amount of stress when my family leaves for vacation. Because of everything sabrina does and offers, her prices are worth it!I'd like to add that she gives you everything you'd need for success...leashes, collars, homework which includes lots of details and instructions on how to keep up with the training. She ensures you and your dogs succeed together.

5 star ratingThank you Sabrina for the great training you did with Kona Girl. At 4-1/2 months, Kona was a pretty rambunctious Labrador puppy. Even with the sweetest disposition, I was having a hard time getting her to heel, stay and come on command. After her three week Puppy Boot Camp, Kona came back so well mannered she is perfect on a heel, stay and come. Putting her in her kelley at night was not her favorite thing. But now I just have to say kennel and she bolts into hers and starts playing with her toys. Sabrina also trained me to be a better owner and Alpha. If you want your dog to get all of the basics, I highly recommend using Balanced Obedience's services.

5 star ratingHighly recommend this business! We needed help with our 5 yr old Catahoula rescue dog. She was anxious, nervous, walking her was very challenging. So we enrolled her in doggie boot camp for 3 weeks. Service included pick up, drop off and an hour of training us on proper commands. We also were given the right equipment to handle our strong 65lb dog. Sabrina and her team transformed this sweet dog and she is now well mannered, behaves and listens to commands. Walking her is so delightful now that we walk farther than we used to. Sabrina is professional, caring and has a wealth of knowledge

5 star ratingSabrina not only trained our rescue Tommy but we also continue to board him with her. Tommy had a tough life prior to our adopting him and Sabrina helped him adjust to life in a loving environment. We couldn't be more pleased with Tommy's behavior and also how we can rest assured when we board him he is well taken care of. When Tommy sees Sabrina he readily goes with her and there is absolutely no separation anxiety. He knows he is with a trusted friend.

5 star ratingI moved here from the Mainland a few years ago. My adult German Shepherd was having some transition issues. I sent him to Boot Camp with Sabrina. He came back a whole new dog. He is the most loving champion anyone could ask for now. Not only has Sabrina taught our dog to follow the rules; she taught our family how to be good dog owners. She spent time showing us how to properly handle him. He has since been easy going and a joy to take places. She helped me build my confidence and I now have an incredible bond with our dog. We also send him to boarding with her and he always comes back well-mannered and you can tell they work with them while they are there. Sabrina has made an incredible difference in our lives and I am truly grateful for her expert training services.

5 star ratingWe called Sabrina for some issues we were experiencing on walks with our now adolescent German Shepherd dog. He is still well behaved at home, but on walks he would be a rascal. It wasn't anything dangerous, but we wanted to nip it in the bud before he got used to those behaviors. We contacted Sabrina. She responded promptly. She brought three of her "naughtiest" dogs with her to see how our dog would react. Wouldn't you know it our dog was on some of his best behavior! Dogs are like kids. Just when you need to them to act a certain way for someone, they decide to act completely differently. Nonetheless, Sabrina observed us on walks with our dog. She gave valuable feedback. She provided some techniques we could use for the issues we experienced. She also gave us a lead and collar that would help us. It's been almost a month since we called her. I'm happy to report we've seen improvement in him since we implemented what we learned.

5 star ratingSabrina Clark at Balanced Obedience helped us greatly with our male German Shepherd puppy. He is an adorable dog with some naughty behaviors. We contacted another local dog trainer, but he wasn't much help at all. In fact, I think he was baffled by German Shepherds in general. His review is in my profile. Then I contacted Sabrina, and from the first time we met, I could tell she was the trainer we should have. She understands dogs very well. She's not going to bribe them with food and she's not going to use shock collars either. She uses leadership and canine psychology to teach dogs good manners. Sabrina took our reactive puppy who would lunge and bark at us to a sweet obedient puppy that's a pleasure to be around. She did this in three weeks. She also crate trained him and socialized him to a variety of other dogs. Previously, he was not the best dog around other dogs. He also had separation anxiety. Now he can handle us being away. He knows how to walk on a leash. He doesn't jump on people or furniture. He is content to settle by your feet when you're on the couch. He does the down command and stay very well. He does it far better than some adult dogs I've met at dog parks! While there was sticker shock sending him to Sabrina's puppy boot camp, the money I spent on Balanced Obedience is well worth it. My puppy was noticeably improved when he came back. It was night and day from what he was like before. Prior to Sabrina, I even contemplated sending the puppy back to the breeder and now I can't imagine life without him. He's far more obedient now, but he didn't lose the traits we loved about him. He's still the same adorable dog but well-mannered now instead of the macho puppy he was. While we still have some minor issues to resolve between the puppy and our older smaller dog, we have the tools to address that issue and we also have lifetime trainer support from Sabrina. She was responsive to my texts and emails. She kept us updated on our puppy's progress via text and Facebook. When the puppy came back home, she trained us and our relatives who would interact with him. She also gave us a collar, long leash and treats. I consider Sabrina a great trainer who knows what she's doing. If you're communicating with her, I recommend you use text or emails.

5 star ratingWe recently got a fully-trained one-year-old Goldendoodle puppy from Balanced Obedience. Because I had reacted badly to certain "hypoallergenic" dogs, I was afraid that maybe I would be allergic to this Goldendoodle. Danny allowed me to spend two 2-hour sessions with her to make sure that I don't have allergic reactions! He patiently answered all the questions my kids and I had about taking care of Rainbow. We were given a 2-hour orientation at our house to help Rainbow adjust to her new home, and he's coming back again a week later to check on us and on Rainbow and to answer more questions that have come up since she has joined our family. It's also comforting to know that when I text them questions, they answer in a very timely manner. Communication has never been a problem, and as new dog owners, we need all the timely advice that we can get!She is SO well behaved, quiet, gentle, and loving. We are so happy to have her, and I can already see the wonderful sense of responsibility she brought out in my kids. In her first few days with us, she's already made friends with all the kids at my son's school for children with special needs. I already know that she is going to bring so much joy to so many people...not just our family. What a difference great training makes in a dog. Balanced Obedience trains dogs with no treats. They only use positive reinforcement. Rainbow never begs for food, and she really enjoys getting praises. It's very obvious that she's been trained with lots of love at Balanced Obedience before she came to our home. I'm so proud to be walking around with such a well-behaved and easy-going dog like Rainbow. It's also GREAT to know that when our family goes on a trip, we can board her at Balanced Obedience where we know she'll be happy and safe...and they'll train her even more while we're away!I can't recommend Danny and Sabrina at Balanced Obedience highly enough!

“provided guidance for me and got the best results

“Sabrina Clark was able to provide private lessons (for two Keeshonds) to change several behaviors that were causing serious problems. The private lessons were quite reasonable, provided guidance for me and got the best results of all the methods I tried. I also got excellent training on how to handle my cockatoos and provide them with better care, feeding, training and safe trips outdoors”...

“I can honestly say that I got immediate results”

“Marley, my two year old, 56-pound English bulldog, tends to pull, dragging me along with him. I tried several collars, but nothing worked. It seemed like he was taking me for a walk instead. So, I called Sabrina to finally get some help, and she made me realize that it wasn’t just about the right type of collar but also my way of interacting with Marley. In order for me to get a well-behaved...

“truly special in all respects

“On the numerous occasions I have encountered Sabrina Clark, I have always found her to be extremely well-informed, courteous, sincere, and willing to go the extra mile to be of assistance. Her deep affection for all living creatures makes her truly special in all respects”

“10-week-old puppy is even listening off the leash”

“My wife and I had just picked up our Sadie (Shar Pei) puppy at 7 weeks of age. That Saturday, Sabrina visited our home and turned a dominant, hard headed type puppy in to a very obedient puppy. With a little homework left to do each day, our now 10-week-old puppy is even listening off the leash. I can only imagine how well she will listen when she gets older. Sabrina’s knowledge of animal...

“I am extremely satisfied with what you have accomplished”

“Brianne and I are very pleased, more so amazed at the progress Bailey(chihuahua) and Dawson(chi-terrier) have made after 3 sessions. Training and working through the obedience has shown us different behaviors exhibited by our little girls. Originally, we had suspected Bailey to be more resistant to obedience, but have now discovered that she benefits from the training by becoming calm,...

“I am so pleased! My pup is finally a part of the family now.

“I was on the brink of opening up the front door and setting my disobedient, loud, un-house broken daschund free. I had always wanted a daschund and when I finally got one- he was terrible! My hubby suggested a lady name Sabrina to train my dog as opposed to getting rid of the pup of my dreams. After 14 days of Sabrina’s training, my dog was an obedient, house broken, tolerable dog. I am so...

“WOW, we’re so happy with the results!”

“The best decision made, was in calling Sabrina for help when my husband and I decided to bring over his Big Island Rotti girl, Keiko, to come live with us and our already pack of 3. They’re big dogs & not the most trusting… we didn’t know how we would integrate Keiko with them, or if it was even possible. We called Sabrina & she suggested doggie boot camp where they could meet for the...

“She was VERY knowledgable”

“I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Sabrina for coming to our house. During a 2 hour period I learned more than I ever did while I was attending a 7 week Puppy Training Class. It was affordable, well planned out and I didn’t have to waste time traveling back and forth to classes or worry about missing a session. She was VERY knowledgable, very hands on and within minutes my 7 month old Dobie was...

“We feel like we’ve made the best decision”

“Sabrina took care of our new puppy for “boot camp” training soon after we got him and we are so glad we decided to do this! Hero came back to us knowing so much more than what we could have hoped for in a puppy. He’s exceptionally trained in basic obedience and already quickly learning the rules of our household as Sabrina has taught us how to work with him on a daily basis. All the neighbors...

“I’ve been able to gain control over my pack of dogs.”

“With Sabrina’s behavior modification methods and obedience training, I’ve been able to gain control over my pack of dogs. Through observation and conversation, she is able to gauge how much (or little) control you have over your dog(s) and picks up on what sort of personality you have as a pack leader for your dog(s). From her, I learned hand signals, the correct tone of voice to use when...

“Thank you so much Sabrina!”

"I called Sabrina when my dog Jaco, a shar pei pitbull mix, became terrified of his crate. I was moving to the mainland, and wanted to make sure that he would feel comfortable in his crate before our 5 hour flight. He was so terrified that if he even heard the crate door open, he would run and cower and refuse to eat for the rest of the day. When Sabrina met Jaco, he immediately responded to...

“She is WONDERFUL!”

“She is WONDERFUL! In addition to being a truly decent and honorable individual, she is hard working, reliable and trustworthy. A true animal lover and trainer”

“She has made my dog into a reliable and obedient service dog.”

“Sabrina is awesome! She has made my dog into a reliable and obedient service dog. He is only ten months old and he is doing wonderful! I still have a few months of the “teenage” time with him but because of Sabrina he listens to all of his commands and will be able to pass the service dog test in a few months! Thanks, Sabrina for always being there on the phone and in person! We have also had...

“I appreciate the wonderful job you did with us.”

“Bullet has been trained by you and has been my service dog assisting me for 3 years now. He is still as disciplined and useful in assisting me as he was the day you trained him. I appreciate the wonderful job you did with us. He and I learned so much from you. Thank you.”

“Sabrina, I would like to thank you again for our Service Training experience.”

Sabrina, I would like to thank you again for our Service Training experience. Not only did you transform Moo into a super Service Dog you also trained me to become a very competent Service Handler. Here is a bit of information about me and how Sabrina came into our life. I have extreme allergies which can result in Anaphylactic Seizures. Only 15 percent of all dogs are able to detect seizures or...

“I had and continue to have nothing but positive experiences with Sabrina”

I had and continue to have nothing but positive experiences with Sabrina. After meeting with a few local trainers, I felt Sabrina was the best fit for us. She came to our home and evaluated my dog to see if she would be a good candidate for service dog training. Sabrina answered every question honestly, provided wonderful details, and made sure that all my needs were met. She trained my Saint...

Sabrina worked with my two French Bulldog Puppies

“Sabrina worked with my two French Bulldog Puppies, Sid & Ninja. I enrolled them in the 3-week Puppy Boot Camp when they were about 12 weeks old and I’m so glad I did! Frenchies are notoriously stubborn, and my boys are no exception. However, the boot camp gave us a solid foundation for basic obedience and provided me with the tools necessary for maintaining the role of pack leader in my...
